Game Recap

The Lady Red Hawks put on a dominant performance at Central Magnet winning by a final score of 4-0. In the first half, Stewarts Creek failed to score despite an advantage of 15-1 in shots. Central’s keeper played well and many of the SCHS attempts were just off target, including a late first half PK.

In the 2nd half the Lady Red Hawks began taking advantage of their chances. The opening goal came in the game’s 48th minute when Annie Warner headed in a cross from Katie Nyland in the center of the box to put SCHS up 1-0. In the 54th minute SCHS extended their lead to 2-0 when Kaitlyn Watson connected on a shot to the upper left of goal from the edge of the 18 after being played in by Delaney Mitchell. In the 62nd minute Delaney Mitchell converted a PK chance she earned after being taken down in the box by a Central Magnet defender to put the Lady Red Hawks up 3-0. Dakota Mitchell ended the night’s scoring in the 65th minute when she struck a corner kick into the goal off a Central defender to make it 4-0.

Goalkeeper Morgan Mueller had some work late to preserve her clean sheet when she saved a PK in the 70th minute of the game. The Stewarts Creek defense of Rachel Carter, Tayler Crutcher, Lexie Davis, Rylei Skinner, Nicole Bauer, Kayla Edde, Courtney Steck, and Kaitlin Jones did a great job of limiting chances for the Central Magnet side as Mueller had to make only 4 saves during her shutout performance.
