Stewarts Creek closed their regular season with a 3-1 victory over Shelbyville Central on Thursday night. The Lady Red Hawks head into the postseason with a record of 11-5-1.

Sabrina White opened the scoring for the Lady Red Hawks in the 19th minute when she finished a shot over the keeper from inside the 18 after a drop pass from Annie Warner. Stewarts Creek extended their lead to 2-0 in the 57th minute when Delaney Mitchell played a drop pass to Katie Nyland near the edge of the penalty area and Nyland finished with a shot to the left side of goal past the keeper. In the 59th minute Nyland extended the lead to 3-0 when she collected a loose ball in the box and finished to the upper right corner of goal. In the 65th minute Shelbyville denied the Lady Red Hawks of the shutout victory with a impressive breakaway goal to provide the final 3-1 margin.

Stewarts Creek hosts an important District Tournament game against Blackman this Monday night at 8pm.
