Cooper Newsom earned his first win (1-0) on the mound for the Red Hawks by going 6 strong innings, giving up up only 3 hits and one run to go along with 5 strikeouts. Reggie Cooper got the scoring started in the first by walking and then advancing three times on Owls’ wild pitches. After MUS tied it in the 5th, the Red Hawks responded in the 6th. Taking advantage of 5 walks, 1 hit batter, 1 error, and 2 base hits, they pushed across 7 runs to take the lead. Keenan Saiyasak threw the 7th to close out the game helping the Red Hawks to improve to 12-3 on the year. Luke Dymond was 2-4 with a run and a RBI. Stewarts Creek plays Saturday at home at 12:30 and 3:00 to close out the Warrior Classic.
