The Red Hawks improved to 6-0 in 7AAA and 10-2 overall with their 12-2 win over Oakland at Stewarts Creek Tuesday night. After an early 1-0 deficit, the Red Hawks scored 7 runs in the second inning on 5 hits, 2 walks, and a hit batter and Devyn McEachron’s 2-run single. Stewarts Creek added to it in the 4th on Luke Dymond’s 2-run single making the score 9-2. Cooper Newsom hit his first home run of the year to center field, a walk-off 3-run shot, in the 6th to put the mercy rule into effect. Stars at the plate were Reggie Cooper who was 2-3 with an RBI and 3 runs scored, Dymond was 3-3 with 3 RBIs, Kenan Saiyasak was 2-3 with a run and an RBI. Caleb Peterson threw five innings for his 3rd win of the year. The Red Hawks play Houston next in the Warrior Classic with a home game on Thursday at 6:00.
