In the longest game in Stewarts Creek history, the Warriors were able to produce a run in the top of the 14th inning and held on in the bottom half of the inning to win the 3-game series, two games to one. The Red Hawks got off to a good start in the first inning on a bases loaded walk by Devyn McEachron, a sacrifice fly from Luke Dymond, and a RBI single from Josh Dudley. With a 5-1 lead in the 5th, a dropped fly ball helped Riverdale tie the score at 5. Riverdale added another run in the top of the 8th, but with two outs in the bottom half of the inning, Dudley hit a clutch double, scoring Reggie Cooper, to tie the game at 6. Keenan Saiyasak threw 5.2 innings of relief behind Cooper Newsom’s 5 innings to start the game. Zach Lawson threw three innings of relief but took the loss for the Red Hawks. Stewarts Creek will play again on Thursday in the first game of the 7AAA tournament at Siegel at 5:00.
